The pants that made Gramicci's name. In the 70s the Stonemasters climbed in Yosemite, and painter pants were not flexible enough for them. Mike Graham, one of them, sewed shorts first: with the diamond-shaped gusset of a kung-fu trouser in the crotch and a nylon belt like a backpack strap that you pull tight with one hand. In 1982 that became Gramicci, and after the shorts came the pants. By the mid-80s surfers and skaters wore them too.
