Founded in 1918 in Chicago as an importer of sewing needles, now in its fourth generation. In 1946 the company went to the Chicago Cubs with the idea of selling fans the same caps the players wore on the field – the first run sold out in a day. That invented the licensed-cap business. Today American Needle lives off exactly those licences and old archive patterns.
