About Nike SB
Nike's skateboarding line. A first attempt at skate shoes in 1997 failed – the skate shops wouldn't stock them, and the market belonged to DC, éS, Emerica and Vans. Nike started over in 2002 under the SB name, went through the shops instead of around them, and rebuilt the basketball Dunk for the board: thicker tongue, more padding, Zoom Air in the sole. Paul Rodriguez joined as the figurehead in 2004, and the Dunk SB became the blueprint for everything that followed.
Mostly shoes – Dunk, Blazer, Janoski, P-Rod and Air Max Ishod – plus socks and the odd apparel piece.
