Svenska Kullagerfabriken, founded in 1907 in Gothenburg after engineer Sven Wingquist invented the self-aligning ball bearing. SKF is an industrial group with nothing to do with skateboarding – its bearings sit in wind turbines, trains and machine tools. They still end up in skateboards, simply because they're machined properly.
